Dawn Dance

Dawn Dance grew up in Cornwall and after completing an Arts Foundation course at Falmouth College she then graduated from Kingston University  with a BA Hons in Fashion and Textiles. After working as a textile conservator she went on to train as a gilder and antique frame restorer. She set up her own gilding and restoration business in Surrey and completed work for the antique trade, National Trust and the Sultan of Bruni. Dawn also worked as a Lecturer, teaching a wide range of BTEC and City & Guilds craft and design courses at Chichester College of Arts, Science and Technology.

“I start my work by using photography and drawings to record natural textures and shapes. I then develop ideas in my workshop using a combination of texturing and patination techniques in copper and silver, combined with semi-precious stones to produce unique pieces that connect people with the place.”
